Sad News:
J.D. Salinger Has died, at 91. That is a BBC News link. Here is their brief biography of Salinger. He died of natural causes, unlike Seymour Glass. Optimistically, maybe in the coming years we'll be able to read at least some of the rumored completed works that he wrote which he did not pursue getting published in his lifetime.
Also here is The New York Times look back at his works, and their long informative biography. They also put together a walking tour of Holden's NYC, but it has no pictures, just a map and text (see my photo album or tour).

Look and read at The New Yorker magazine online. They were one of the magazines JDS wrote short stories for. Wonderful: slideshow, and essays (including two by people who knew him), and even a neat little drawing of him. There are links to two more essays on their homepage of the site.
